Barbecue and Slaw sale coming to Anna Kresge Saturday

Anna Kresge United Methodist Church, located at 15 Booger Hollow Road in Cedartown, will host their 11th annual Charlie’s Famous Barbecue and Slaw sale on Saturday, May 2, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Customers have the option to dine in or to carry out.

According to church organizers, this is an event the community looks forward to each spring. Barbeque is sold by the plate or by the pound for $9.00. The menu is barbeque, slaw, baked beans, bread, chips, pickle and tea. Community members can also purchase slaw by the pint or quart.

Church organizers note that the church supports many activities. It houses and sponsors Cub Scout Pack 40 and Boy Scout Troup 40.

On Wednesday night’s, Anna Kresge church members conduct a children’s ministry called “Kresge Kids.” Each Wednesday, the church transports 40 to 60 children to the church. They off the children free dinners, fellowship and Bible classes. In the Bible class, the children learn about God’s love.

Anna Kresge is also active in other local ministries including the Samaritan House, the soup kitchen and the bedding ministry. The church is also active with Red Bird mission in Kentucky and they support missions in Nicaragua, Romania and Russia.
