Youth Soccer: Rain slows Arsenal teams with 1-8-3 record

The YMCA’s Arsenal Rome Soccer Club’s Select teams posted a 1-8-3 record over the past few rain-filled weeks to bring the season record to 7-15-4.

On April 18, the G14-D lost to firstplace South GA, 4-0, then tied fifth-place GA FC, 1-1, with a goal from Rockmart’s Ashlyn Jay.

On April 26, they lost to second-place Augusta Gold, 3-0. On May 2, they lost to East Point’s sixth-place Tiger SC, 6-1, with a goal from Madison Bozydaj.

On May 3, they tied 10th-place Lady Chiefs Blue 0-0. Their 0-4-3 record has them in 11th place as they head to Gainesville this weekend for the President’s Cup.

The B13-III lost on April 26 to SSA’s Chelsea Blue, 4-1.

They lost on April 29 to NASA Premier 6-0. On May 1, they lost to AFC Lightning 2-1.

On May 2, they lost to Griffin Excel, 10-1. On May 3, they lost to Roswell Santos Blue, 5-0. This weekend they are off to Griffin for the President’s Cup. Their 1-9 record has them in 11th place.

The B14-II beat Macon’s SAF Elite, 4-3, on April 18 with goals from Houston Read (two), Wes Lorrens and Ramiro Alanis.

On May 2, they tied Norcross Premier 3-3 with goals from Lane Koch (two) and Lorrens. Their 6-2-1 record has them in fifth place. This weekend they host SSA at Grizzard Park at 2 p.m.
