The Pepperell Dragons 13- to 14-year-old Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority baseball team won a doubleheader against Model at North Floyd Park.
The Dragons (4-0) won the first game, 13-0, and the second game, 12-1.
Mason Fincher led the way for the Dragons, throwing a one-hitter with seven strikeouts.
Offensively, Tucker McCoy had a home run and two RBIs; Keelan Long had two hits and two RBIs; Darien Pasley had two hits and an RBI; Griffin Kanelos had one hit and two RBIs; Barrett Pence had one hit and one RBI; Avery Wooten had a double and one RBI; Nick Crooks had two RBIs; Landon Camp had one RBI; and Kemp Wright added one RBI.
In Game 2, Griffin Kanelos pitched a one-hitter with 5 strikeouts. Bruce Anderson led the offense with two hits, one a double and two RBIs; Fincher added two hits and three RBIs; Long had two hits, a double and two RBIs; Wooten had one hit and two RBIs; Darien Pasley had a double and one RBI; Kanelos had one hit and one RBI; Nick Crooks had a hit; and Tucker McCoy added one RBI.
The Pepperell Dragons defeated the Model Blue earlier in the at North Floyd Park, 10-0, behind the one-hit pitching of Anderson.
Long led the Dragons offense with a triple and three RBIs. Anderson added a triple and two RBIs; Camp had one hit and two RBIs; Pence had one hit and one RBI; Chase Gresham had one RBI; McCoy had one RBI; Fincher had one hit and Pasley had a hit.
