Marcus Wilder, a junior at Armuchee High; Sam Bryant, a sophomore at Model High; and Makayla Keasler, a junior at Model High were selected for the four-week summer instructional program.

The program is designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students with challenging and enriching educational opportunities not available during the regular school year.

Wilder was selected in science, Bryant in social studies and Keasler in the visual arts.

Each applicant is required to go through an extensive selection process to be invited. Transcripts of grades and records, nomination forms, endorsements and other pertinent information about the applicants are submitted for review. Thousands of students from across the state are interviewed and audition for the opportunity to be a part of Governor’s Honors each year.
