Call for artists issued for new March exhibit

A call for artists has been issued for “Small Town Life” submissions. The deadline is March 23.

Everyone is reminded that a small town is a great place low and artists are invited to show your pride in living in such a wonderful town by depicting life in or around small towns like Rockmart ~ now or in the past. All artists (age 18 and up) are invited to submit works of art in any media depicting their vision of life in a small town.

There is no entrance fee, however the gallery collects a fee of 20% on all sales.

How to submit:

Email image (s) to rcac@rockmart-ga.gov – preferred method

Hand deliver photograph (s) or CD to RCAC c/o City of Rockmart, 316 N. Piedmont Ave., Rockmart, GA 30153 (Drop Box or Drive Thru)

Mail photograph (s) or CD to RCAC, P.O. Box 231, Rockmart, GA 30153

Those who wish to submit entries are asked to send photographs of up to five pieces of art for the exhibit. Each photo of art submitted must include these nine elements to be considered. (Please name digital files according to art title.)

March 26 – Notification of selections

March 28 – Deliver art (1 – 3 pm)

March 29 – Deliver art (1 – 3 pm)

April 10 – Opening of “Small Town Life”

April 19 – Sunday Afternoon Reception (1- 3 pm)

May 30 – Last day of exhibit

May 30 – Saturday Pick up art (4 – 6pm)

May 31 – Sunday Pick up art (1 – 3 pm)

Art Classes – ongoing registrations

“Photo Convo One” (Photography) (6 – 7:30 PM) $75 and

“Lightroom 5 Live” (7:30 – 9 PM) $75 with Carla Redding begins the next session of four Thursdays on April 2, 2015. Ages 16 and up.

Registrations must be received by April 1st at noon. Email rcac@rockmart-ga.gov for details of each class and to register.

Mosaic Tile Art with Jan Stone is offered every week in two-day workshops, morning and evening on Monday and Tuesday. Pre-registration is required. Please email for complete details and to register. rcac@rockmart-ga.gov
