A Rockmart man remains in jail today on a child molestation charge after he was taken into custody Monday following and investigation by the Rockmart Police Department.
According to Det. David Gowens:
Edward Charles Garrett, 66, of 369 Wingfoot St., Rockmart is alleged to have fondled a female under 16 years old multiple times between July 2014 to this month.
Gowens said the victim told a family member what was going on, and that family member contacted the Rockmart Police Department who started an investigation.
Garrett remains in jail on the felony child molestation charge with a $31,000 bond. Gowens said more charges against Garrett might be forthcoming from the District Attorney’s office in the case.
