Graves to announce Youth Art winners

The Latest Local News from the Cedartown Standard



Congressman Tom Graves will present the 2015 Congressional Youth Art Winners at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center in the Art Gallery, 316 N. Piedmont Ave, Bldg. 300.


The public is invited to attend the artists’ reception. Refreshments will be served and admission is free.


There were 68 entries from the 14th District of Georgia. Congressman Tom Graves will announce the winners of the competition. There will be first, second, and third as well as honorable mentions awarded. The first prize work of art will represent the 14th Congressional District in an exhibition in Washington, D. C. for one year!


Entries were submitted by Chandler Adams, Paulina Elsner, Cheyenne Reasoner, Guillermo Aguilar, Mikayla Feltman, Andrea Renee Richardson, Soralda Alverado, Courtney Fennell, Sadie Richardson, Ivan Alvardo, Steve Gilreath, Tristan Scheiderer, Jamie Armstrong, Cory Gonzalez, Hannah Schriever, Joey Sanchez-Avantes, Hernestina Molina Guiterrez, Amber Shook, Adrianna Barton, Marco Hernandez and Brina Soesbee.


Others who entered the competition included Breanna Beavers, Savannah Hudson, Tiffany Suggs, Rielly Beckner, Jose Juarez, Hayley Swindall, Emie Blaylock, Makayla Kezser, Lacey Walker, Luke Burdette, Kelley Kidd, Hannah Walker, Nancy Cervantes, Madison Langston, J. C. Wang, Jas Chaney, Elizabeth Leon, Erin Whited and Lisandro Chavez.


Additionally, the judging included entries by Lillian Cloer, Kiana Mata, Rebekah Wildes, Jennifer Craton, Phillip McClure, Abigail Willet, Alexis Crawford, Katie McFalls, Shelby Womack, Drake Crider, Molly Anne McGee, Isaac Wright, Katelyn Crumbley, Kansas Moore, Tim Wyatt, Joseph Davis, Kirsten Overstreet, Lindsey Michelle Wynn, Tia Davis, Kayla Parsley, Elizabeth Zamudio, Lindsey Douthitt, Leslie Rangel, Allen Zhane, Landyn Durham and Ashton Ray.
