A pinto bean supper fundraiser will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 21 in the Live Oak Church Fellowship Hall, 150 Live Oak Road, Aragon.
The menu includes pinto beans, cornbread, fried potatoes, slaw, dessert and tea. Donations will be taken and Pastor Anthony Osborn invites the public to come for a good meal.
The event is held to raise money to pay shipping charges for the annual Operation Christmas Child shoebox mission project.
Congressman Tom Graves will present the 2015 Congressional Youth Art Winners at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 19 at the Rockmart Cultural Arts Center in the Art Gallery, 316 N. Piedmont Ave, Bldg. 300.
The public is invited to attend the artists’ reception. Refreshments will be served and admission is free.
There were 68 entries from the 14th District of Georgia.
American Legion Post No. 12 of Rockmart will host a fundraising event for Relay for Life on April 18.
The escorted ride starts and ends at Post 12. Registration begins at 11 a.m. Rides are $25 ($5 per passenger). All proceeds go to the Polk Relay for Life. Live music provided and food served after the event.

The Marietta Street United Methodist Church, 401 Robert L. Park Blvd. in Cedartown, will host its annual spring revival at 7 p.m. March 25 – 26.
The pastor is Rev. Bobby Church.
Speakers will include: Tuesday night, Rev. Terrance Bell, pastor, Devine Glory Ministries of Carrollton; Wednesday, Rev. Vincent Dorth, pastor, Antioch Baptist Church, Carrollton; Thursday, Rev. Douglas Childers, pastor, Moore’s Chapel United Methodist Church, Carrollton. The public is invited.

Registration for Pre-K and Kindergarten students in Cedartown and Rockmart was scheduled this month for the 2015-16 school year.
Pre-K and Kindergarten signups was scheduled to run through March 13 in Cedartown at the Polk County Board of Education offices located on College Street in downtown Cedartown. The signup period will scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m.
Signups in Rockmart are being held at the Nathan Dean Center in Rockmart from on March 25 through 27 on the same time schedule as in Cedartown.
The Tallatoona Head Start program in Rockmart is now accepting applications for limited space in their Head Start and Pre-K programs.
Those interested can schedule an appointment with Family Advocate Ashley Goddard at 770-684-5770.
Head Start is a federally funded program for pre-school children from low-income families. Children who attend Head Start or Pre-K participate in a variety of educational activities, receive free medical and dental care, have access to healthy meals and snacks, and enjoy playing indoors and outdoors in a safe setting at no charge.
There is an income eligibility requirement and children must be at least 3 by Sept. 1, 2015 to participate in the Head Start program or 4 by Sep. 1, 2015 to participate in the Pre-K program.
Southside Baptist Church at 409 Cobb Street will be in revival through Thursday, March 19, held nightly at 7 p.m. Dr. Rodger Whorton will be bringing the message.
Special singing nightly. Everyone is invited to attend.
Victory Baptist Church will be holding the “4 the Kids” Car and Truck Show on March 28, 2015 to benefit the Stockings of Love Program.
The car and truck show, which will be located at the church at 15 Hendrix Road between Cedartown and Rock-mart just off Highway 278, will feature door prizes, a money tree, gospel music and food.
$20 to enter, registration begins at 9 a.m.
The show will start at 10 a.m. and run to 4 p.m.

The 11th annual Coosa Lodge #622 Golf Tournament is set for Friday, April 17. The four-man scramble includes a lunch at noon and a 1 p.m. tee time at Meadow Lakes Golf Course.
