Transylvania plated four runs in the top of the ninth inning and defeated Berry College, 11-9, on Sunday.
The Vikings dropped to 8-7 and the Pioneers moved to 2-3.
Berry had rallied from a 7-3 deficit with five runs in the eighth inning to take an 8-7 lead.
The Vikings later added one run in the bottom of the ninth.Transylvania out-hit the Vikes, 11-10. Berry’s Ben Jernigan went 3-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Alex McGill was 2-for-5 with two RBIs. Reliever Braxton Teel (1-1) took the loss for the Vikings. Nick Edwards went 2-for-5 with four RBIs for the Pioneers.
The Vikings host Sewanee on Friday.
