County Attorney Tommy Manning joining FMC legal team; Wade Monk to retire

The Latest Local News from the Rome News

Floyd County attorney Tommy Manning will replace Wade Monk as general counsel for Floyd Medical Center, officials said Friday.

Manning, currently a partner with Rome law firm McRae, Stegall, Peek, will leave his position to join the hospital, officials said.

“Wade has been our trusted legal counsel for 30 years now,” said Kurt Stuenkel, FMC president and CEO. “He joined Floyd as a full-time employee in 2002. We are sad to see Wade leave us, but he has earned his retirement.”

Floyd County Manager Jamie McCord praised Manning.

“I think Tommy’s a great attorney, and I think it’s a wise decision for Floyd Medical Center,” he added.

Monk said his time with the hospital has been rewarding.

“Floyd is fortunate to be joined by an attorney the caliber of Tommy Manning,” Monk said. “I look forward to working with him over the next several months as we make this transition.”
