Duskey steps down as Water Authority chairman

The Latest Local News from the Cedartown Standard

Polk County’s Water Authority board has a new chair following the departure of Cedartown resident Ken Duskey from the organization.

According to a press release, Duskey stepped down as the Chairman of the Polk County Water, Sewer, and Solid Waste Authority Board, after serving his one-year term in that position.

Duskey served a total of five years on the Authority Board, and most recently served as the Chairman of the Authority’s Finance Committee.

During his tenure on the Board, a number of projects were approved and completed, to include the improvements made at Deaton Spring.

Duskey’s time on the Board also included oversight for projects at Mulco Spring, the Aragon Waste Treatment facility, and the purchase of land adjacent to Mulco Spring for future development.

Howard Smith, of Cedartown, has been named as Duskey’s successor, and was approved and installed as the Authority’s new Chairman during the April 20th Board of Director’s meeting. Jim Wright was also elected as Vice-Chairman, and Jill Price was re-elected as the Board Secretary.
