A Rome woman was arrested Sunday in the wake of a police investigation that goes back to October of 2014.
According to Floyd County jail documents:
Melanie Sharon Flemister, 41, 224 Longmeadow Drive, Rome was charged with felony exploitation of an elder person and multiple counts of felony financial transaction card fraud.
The crimes involves Flemister’s alleged use of a 66 year old woman’s Master Card between October 1 and December 31, 2014 to buy personal items and pay her own bills rather that using the card strictly for the benefit of the victim.
The warrants filed at the jail do not indicate the specific nature of the relationship between Flemister and the victim.
