Altercation at Coker Drive home leads to more serious charges against Rome man

The Latest Local News from the Rome News

A Rome man was taken into custody Sunday by police who were called to his home after he allegedly committed an act of violence against a female member of his family.

According to Floyd County Jail documents:

Tristan Antwan Aiken, 29, of 10 Coker Drive, was arrested on a charge misdemeanor battery under the Family Violence Act but when police arrived and transported Aiken to the Floyd County jail, his trouble became more serious.

Aiken allegedly made threats against the police. and threatened to shoot a Floyd County Sheriff’s Deputy as well as another other officer.

He is charged with felony terroristic threats and acts. The Family Violence Act charge is a misdemeanor.
