Work begins for Habitat remodel in Polk County

The Latest Local News from the Cedartown Standard

The Habitat for Humanity rehab project at 2523 Old Collard Valley Road is underway, and more than two dozen volunteers made their way out to help this weekend.

Those included employees of Keith Redden’s contracting companies, Emergi-PRO, Tri-County Painting and representatives from Certiclean were out on April 18 lending a hand by scrubbing walls and removing siding from the house that had rotted away.

Along with the workers, came Pastor Tony Daniel and his children to help with the first round of cleanup. The project, being spearheaded by the Habitat for Humanity of Rome and Floyd County, is the first for the organization in Polk County.

The Habitat has also partnered on projects in Floyd and Chattooga Counties this spring. The rehabilitation build here in Polk County will be hosting volunteers every Saturday until the project is completed. Call Habitat at 706-378-0030 for more on how you can help.
