The Latest Local News from the Cedartown Standard
Former Cedartown City Commissioner Scotty Tillery will be sworn in for the Polk County District 1 seat.
Tillery, who along with Sandra Galloway, Clinton Lester and Cleve Hartley was up for the seat after previous experience in local government, was up for the position following the death of Polk County Commission chair Billy Croker in late February.
Polk County elections director Karen Garmon said the state still has to process Tillery’s paperwork, which will have to be returned to Probate Judge Linda Smith before he’ll be sworn in.
Garmon said a date for the swearing in ceremony won’t be set until the paperwork has gone through its processing with the Secretary of State’s office.
The decision was made earlier today.
Tillery was not immediately available for comment.
Check back with the ThePolkFishWrap.com for more later on today from Tillery.
