Fountain season officially started at the Town Green in downtown Rome on Friday as the public water feature was switched on for the first time this year. A broken light in the ground around the fountain threatened to delay the start, but Rome-Floyd Parks and Recreation Authority crews were able to make it safe. The fountain is scheduled to be on daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
