Youth Soccer: Arsenal teams go 1-2-1 in weekend action

The YMCA’s Arsenal Rome Soccer Club’s Select teams posted a 1-2-1 record last weekend to bring their season record to 6-7-1.


The G14-D team traveled to Williamson to play the Fury.


At halftime, the score was 0-0.


After the half, both teams scored one goal each. Madison Bozydaj scored for Rome. The girls had many opportunities but couldn’t finish, although they dominated possession the entire game.


Goalie Bre Culpepper had seven saves. The final score was 1-1. Their 0-1-1 record puts them in 10th place out of 12.


The team will play two games Saturday against first-place South GA at 2 p.m. and sixth-place GA FC at 5 p.m. at Grizzard Park.


The team will host second-place Atlanta Fire on Sunday at 3 p.m.


The B13-III team lost to the Atlanta Fire, 4-0, two weekends ago.


The team lost to Warner Robins’ SAF Elite, 4-0, on Saturday. The team lost to Cumming’s UFA, 4-1, on Sunday with a goal from Andreas Svardh.


The team’s 1-4 record puts them in ninth place out of 12, and they next play in Kennesaw and Acworth this weekend.


The B14-II beat Hampton’s TSC Elite, 6-0, on Saturday bringing their season record to 5-2. The team is in first place.


Rahdriq Turner is tied for second in the division with six goals. Houston Read has scored five goals. They host Macon’s SAF Elite at 5 p.m. on Saturday and Atlanta’s Alianza at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
