The ROC to re-open April 20

The Centre First Baptist Church Recreational Outreach Center (ROC) will officially re-open Monday, April 20. Hours are Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday from 6 a.m. until 5 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.

Members of Centre First Baptist Church were shocked in January to learn that water damage forced the closing of the kitchen, gymnasium, walking track and weight room facilities. A busted water pipe apparently caused water to spew for several hours which was discovered early Saturday morning, Jan. 17.

The church administative offices along with Shepherd’s Fold Day Care Center remained open while the gymnasium and recreation facilities had to close for the past few months. Friday night’s Celebrate Recovery along with Wednesday evening services were moved to the downtown campus while repairs were completed.

Testimonies abound in the area about how the ROC has changed lives through Celebrate Recovery and other programs held in the facility.

The ROC offers fitness programs for the entire family including:

-An indoor walking track with suspended rubber floor that is easy on the knees, back, ankles, hips

-A weight room facility with circuit training equipment; cardio machines; free weights

-A basketball court with a collegiate size wood floor; offering cross court as well as full court play

-An an aerobic class on Wednesdays 9 a.m. with Freida Ellis

-Silver Sneakers Members to join and use our walking track, weight room, aerobic class free of charge

The ROC is available for rental– large or small groups—functions such as showers, birthday parties, reunions, meetings, receptions.

The ROC is now offering a two-month free trial period for use of the walking track, weight room and basketball court.

The ROC, located at 300 East Bypass in Centre, invites everyone to come by and check things out!
